One thing we particularly love is getting out in nature and be active as a family. You don’t need any snazzy equipment, just use nature as a gym. There are so many ways to utilise nature’s backyard to get fit. Let Ronny and Rosa guide you in the right direction! Even just sniffing the Grampians air will do you and your little ones wonders!

Bikepath

Yes indeed, Halls Gap is connected from North to South with a safe and picturesque bike path. Biggest danger is a crossing emu! The total distance is about 8km, give or take. So make sure to bring the bikes and helmets for the whole family when visiting Halls Gap!

Golf

For young and old. This is a little treasure much overlooked by the general public. Stunning 9 hole golf course! Let the kids roam in between the kangaroos! Golf clubs available for hire.

Play footy or cricket

The oval in Halls Gap is home to the Halls Gap Cricket Club and a mob of kangaroos! When either of these are not using the oval, why not kick a footy or play some cricket. There are even nets for you to use when the locals are not having cricket training!

Playground

Away from screen time, a world of discovery awaits when visiting the playground located right in the heart of Halls Gap. Let the kids explore, develop coordination, strength and motor skills all at the same time as meeting other kids while enjoying fresh Grampians air.

Fitness Station

It is so much fun to explore the outdoors! Chin ups, push ups, climbing … look at your gorgeous red faces. Get the blood flowing, the heart pumping and the muscles tensing! Not far from Halls Gap Lakeside, on the bike path on the way to Halls Gap, you will find this super cool outdoor fitness station. An amazing way to have some family fun. And maybe mum, bring the yoga mat as well, because outdoor yoga amongst the kangaroos is a whole new level! You often see Rosa doing just that!

Swimming

How many little Australian towns still have a pool? No idea, but guess what, Halls Gap does.  The Halls Gap pool is a seasonal outdoor facility that is privately run by awesome local Ange. Ange has taught most local children how to swim and has regular swimming lessons with the kids at the Halls Gap primary school. The pool opens on November 1st every year, and closes after the Easter weekend the following year. And when you are on holidays, you should consider buying a family pass! Just ask Ange all about it, so much fun to have a splash…

Tennis

One day whilst Ronny and Rosa were exploring the Grampians they found this little gem on the way to Venus Baths, they asked around and guess what? The tennis courts, which are located next to the Halls Gap primary school at the entry of the Botanical Gardens are free to use! The courts are unlocked! The tennis courts are managed by the Halls Gap Caravan Park & Recreation Reserve Committee of Management. So when visiting the Grampians make sure you bring your tennis racket!

Trails

Fyans Creek Loop, Venus Bath loop, Lakeside Loop Sweet and short 2+ km loops ideal fora little jog, without the intense hill climbing! Get the heart rates up, the legs moving and the cheeks warming!
