Heatherlie Quarry

Ronny and Rosa are so excited to share their favourite walk with you! Heatherlie Quarry. From Halls Gap, you turn left into Mt Zero road. You keep driving and instead of turning right at the turn off to the golf course you continue straight. On the right you will eventually pass Plantation campground and voila, there you are! Park the car and explore!

It is a super easy loop, passing old (rusty) machinery, stone cottages and even some of the original train tracks.

Did you know the Post Office on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne, Supreme Court, Melbourne Town Hall, The Australians Taxation Office, Melbourne Museum and the Public Library have all (partially) been build with sandstone quarried from Heatherlie Quarry. How cool is that!
