BBQ Meat Sticks

Ingredients

  • Red onion
  • 500 gram mince
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs or 1 slice of bread to tear up
  • 1 egg
  • pepper
  • salt
  • Oil

On top of those ingredients you will need:

  • Empty clean plastic bottle
  • Can, about the diameter of your plastic bottle
  • Soaked wooden skewers
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions

Prepare the tools

  • Cut the plastic bottle in half, cut the bottle about a third of the bottom.
  • Make sure that your can fits tightly inside the bottle or you might need to find another can or bottle that fit together

Prepare the meat

  • Cut half a red onion in small pieces
  • Tear up the slice of bread in small pieces
  • Mix the onion, egg and breadcrumbs with the mince
  • Add a pinch of salt and pepper

Make the sticks

  • Put the mince mix in the top part of the cut open bottle
  • Place the can underneath so you can use it to push the mince up
  • Place a soaked wooden skewer in the top of the bottle and press the bottle down guiding the skewer out with the mince mix.
  • Continue this process until all the mince has been used up

Cook the Meat Sticks

  • Pre heat the BBQ and oil the hotplate
  • Cook the Meat Sticks for about 10 minutes or until cooked through
